How To Transfer Your Pension Abroad
Posted on January 3rd, 2011 No commentsThis article is to tell you how me and hubby used QROPS to transfer our pension overseas. My husband and I have always had terrific careers and we started saving for our old age when we were young. We could of said “oh well, we can do that next year”. None the less, we did not want to leave ourselves in awkward situations should anything happen to one of us. We had done our sums a number of years ago and knew that the UK pension was not going to amount to much. We all the time wanted to leave the uk so our aim when we retired was to purchase a villa and live in Spain. Spain was our lifelong holiday destination so we knew it well. On our last holiday, we went out on an inspection trip with an estate agent and viewed some fine-looking villas.
We found a website that specialises in transferring personal pensions overseas. They also dealt with assessing pensions to make sure they were being invested in such a way that allowed utmost returns. It is called QROPS pension and the aim is to allow people added flexibility, ease of mind and greater choice when it comes to investing. So now that our state and individual pensions are in order, we can go to Spain and purchase our villa.
